Orthopedic stretch shoes for swollen feet, bunions and hammertoes
When swelling, bunions or hammertoes make shoes difficult to wear, the Pedors Classic Beige (601) provides a stretch forefoot, adjustable closure and removable insert to accommodate the foot. These orthopedic shoes for women and men are designed around real fitting needs—including edema, sensitive toe joints and the need for custom orthotics. The flexible Pedoprene forefoot gives around the shape of the foot, while the single strap lets you adjust the fit without tying laces.
How the design accommodates your feet
- Stretch Pedoprene forefoot adapts around prominent joints and toes.
- Forefoot construction without a rigid toe cap offers flexibility around bunions, hammertoes and other toe shape differences.
- Single hook-and-loop strap lets you open, secure and readjust the shoe without tying laces.
- Removable insert creates space for a suitable custom orthotic.
- Lightweight construction makes the shoe easy to handle and wear.
Choosing your size and width
Choose from Medium (B/C), Wide (D/E) and X-Wide (2E). Select the size and width combination shown in the options. This unisex style uses the women's/men's equivalents displayed there. Stretch can accommodate shape differences, but the sole still needs to support the full foot.
Footwear needs associated with edema, diabetes and arthritis
- Swollen feet and edema: the adjustable strap and stretch upper accommodate changes in foot volume within the selected width.
- Bunions, hammertoes and corns: the flexible forefoot has no rigid toe cap, providing accommodation around prominent joints and toes.
- Arthritis: a touch closure simplifies fastening when tying laces is difficult, and the adaptable upper accommodates changes in forefoot shape.
- Diabetes-related fitting needs: the removable insert allows a qualified fitter to assess the shoe with prescribed orthotics. Individual fit remains essential.
For feet that need a wider opening or more volume, compare the two-strap Classic MAX and the 10E Super MAX.
Orthotics and fitting
The removable insert allows a fitter to assess the shoe with your prescribed orthotic in place. The Pedoprene forefoot can also be heat molded by a qualified fitter; request professional fitting rather than attempting a heat adjustment at home.
Care
Follow the care instructions supplied with your pair, including any separate instructions for an orthotic or professionally modified shoe.
How is this different from Classic MAX?
The Classic uses one strap. Classic MAX adds a second strap for a wider opening and is offered in broader widths.
